FOUNDER AND EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
John Waterman
John has worked with individuals with disabilities for over thirty years. He is currently the chairperson of the Seniors and ADA Committee of the Citizens Advisory Council of Southeast Michigan’s Regional Transit Authority, and is on the non-motorized technical advisory committee for the Washtenaw Area Transportation Study.
John has received various awards for his cycling and disability activism. In 2002, he received the Boggs-Mitchell Award in recognition of individuals and community organizations that provide year-round, challenging and inclusive recreational programs for people with disabilities. In 2008, he was named the Bicycle Educator of the Year by the League of Michigan Bicyclists.
John earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education from Eastern Michigan University, and a Master’s Degree in Educational Research, Assessment, and Evaluation from Western Michigan University.

Katelyn Walters

Katelyn is a graduate from the University of Toledo. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Recreational Therapy as well as her Master’s degree in Recreation Administration. Katelyn is a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) and is passionate about empowering individuals through recreation and leisure activities. She is excited to work with students and staff while providing therapeutic activities related to PEAC’s mission and values.

Katelynn Britton

Katelynn is a graduate from The University of Toledo. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Recreational Therapy and is a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS). Katelynn believes in the importance of teaching individuals how to be independent and safely access their community. Through the School Active Transportation program, which focuses on biking, bussing and walking, she is able to teach these skills.

Kaleesha Foster

Kaleesha graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Recreational Therapy at the University of Toledo in 2021. She earned her CTRS (Certified Therapeutic Recreational Specialist) status in March of 2022. After taking on the role as site coordinator in 2022, she became more involved in the Summer Cycling Program. Kaleesha is determined to utilize PEAC’s mission to empower individuals through biking, for safe travel within the community.
PRIVATE LESSON COORDINATOR
Madison Prinzing
Madison is a graduate of the University of Michigan and was involved in Dance Marathon, a student run nonprofit. Through Dance Marathon, she became involved with the Summer Cycling Program. As she become more involved in programs, she realized the importance of creating communities that prioritize all people. In her role, she teaches bussing, biking, and walking skills, emphasizing the importance of community access and integration.
