Family rides provide a safe and monitored environment for students to practice skills they have learned during the summer program.  In addition, they offer an active and social outlet for participants and a recreational activity that family members can participate in together.Every Thursday evening from the beginning of May through the end of October, PEAC hosts family rides at Willow Metropark at Washago Pond.

Everyone participates in a  slow four-mile ride. Depending on the interest, some of the group may decide to ride longer. We ride on the Metropark trails which are multi-use paved trails. No rider is left alone and people of many different ability levels can join us.

What’s the best part of the ride? The opportunity to socialize with other families after the ride and enjoy a few snacks/refreshments.

What to bring? If you have your own bike and helmet, please bring them.  If you need to borrow equipment or have questions, please call John at 734-658-8347.

“Family rides are awesome.  There are very few things we can do as a family where everyone can participate fully and enjoy it.  Bike riding is one of them now!….We really enjoy the ride but it is also the companionship and friends we have made that makes it even more special.”
